Welcome everyone to our Reception year group. Unfortunately due to the current situation we are unable to deliver the following training below. Please see the power point below for information on how we teach reading and writing in the Reception year. Your class web page will provide lots of information as we follow each learning stage through the year. In a few weeks time we will provide you with a target journal which will have your child’s literacy targets for writing at the front and their maths targets at the back. Reading targets will be in your child’s Home to School book at the front and these are updated termly. These targets follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which we deliver through a combination of child initiated learning and adult led focus activities. Their are 17 Early Learning Goals that we focus on throughout the Reception year.
Maths Workshop Information
Maths Workshops - that could not take place due to Covid19 restrictions. I have included the introduction to Maths at our school and some pictures from last year of how we delivered the workshop. I understand this is not ideal however it might give you a few ideas and we sent out the Maths booklet to all of FS2/Reception in your child's bag last day of Autumn 1 term. Target journals will be out the first week back after Half Term. BL is the Baseline snapshot targets that your child demonstrated on entry. Pink highlighting is what they have shown us in the provision up to half term. As always if your are concerned about your child speak to your class teacher and remember to check your child's class page for relevant information. Thank you the Reception team.
